As the product gains popularity, SONY is facing supply shortages due to the production capacity and quality of the VR silicone face masks. To address this issue, SONY is actively developing new suppliers for silicone face masks. When YEJIA Optical Silicone Division received the product drawings for evaluation, we firmly chose liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection molding technology over the previous supplier's compression molding technology to ensure product stability and daily capacity. After multiple discussions and technical communications, YEJIA Optical Silicone Division has successfully been acknowledged by SONY that the silicone face mask should be manufactured by LSR injection molding.
August 2, 2016, was a memorable day. On that day, Typhoon Nida struck, causing many factories to suspend operations. However, with the strong support of the JAPANSA team partners, all employees of YEJIA Optical Silicone Division persevered through the wind and rain. After more than a month of challenging improvements and transformations, we ultimately gained recognition and approval from SONY.
SONY audited the SIP and SOP for the manufacturing processes and inspection processed of silicone face mask, and was impressed by the efforts that YEJIA team has done.
