On December 13, 2019, at the Walden International Hotel in Qiaotou, Dongguan, an unprecedented event took place- Dongguan's First Industrial Engineering and Lean Management Innovation Competition and the Third Dongguan Jingyi Zhiqi Manufacturing Summit Forum- was grandly opened. This event brought together 10 industry leaders and 530 business leaders to discuss the important role of lean manufacturing in the manufacturing industry.
The competition was elegantly hosted by Zhang Yan, a national-level broadcaster and a member of Dongguan Radio and Television. As the review video of the competition was played, the audience witnessed the excellent improvement cases, cutting-edge technology of industrial engineering, in-depth thinking and innovative methods of lean management demonstrated by the top 10 entries. Each entry fully proved the great potential of Lean in business operations.
After the works were published, the judging panel consisted of experts such as Prof. Qi Ershi, Chairman of the Industrial Engineering Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and Wang Yuchun, former Secretary of FAW Car. They asked questions and commented on various dimensions, such as research methodology, benefit results, team strength, etc., and provided valuable optimization suggestions for the participants. In the end, YEJIA Optical Technology (Guangdong) Corporation won the third prize with its outstanding performance.
Manufacturing industry, as the core of national economy, carries the important task of national development. Lean production, as a highly respected production organization in the manufacturing industry, can efficiently utilize resources, reduce costs and improve quality. In the context of the era of intelligence and digital, lean innovation should not only take the direction of "intelligence-led product innovation", but also take the path of "integration of digital-driven technology and informationization", and uphold the principle of "excellence and continuous improvement". The principle of "excellence and continuous improvement" should be adhered to.
